When may I apply for a position at The Bee?
The best time to send your application materials is immediately after an open position has been posted. We accept applications for open positions only. Visit this page for up-to-date and complete job postings.
To whom should I send my resume?
When may I expect a response?
The Human Resource Department will review your application materials. If there is a potential job match, your application materials will be forwarded to the appropriate hiring manger.
How long will my application be considered active?
The HR Department will consider your application active for three months. After three months, if your desired position becomes available, you would need to complete and submit a new application with updated materials.
May I apply for more than one position at a time?
No. However, on the Fresno Bee application, you may indicate your primary and alternate choice.
What about clips or my portfolio?
A reporter, editor, photographer, editorial artist or graphic artist applicant should also submit non-returnable clips or portfolio with his or her application.
Is the application process different at Vida en el Valle and The Clovis Independent?
The process and the application is the same.
Does The Fresno Bee offer college internships?
Newsroom internships are awarded in January for the summer. The deadline is December 15th for the following summer. You may submit a resume, coverletter and clips to, The Fresno Bee, 1626 E Street, Fresno,CA 93786. We generally have internships for copy editing and reporting.
What is The Fresno Bee's background and history?
The Fresno Bee was first published in 1922, and today it is Central California's leading newspaper serving Fresno, Kings, Madera, Tulare, Mariposa and Merced counties.
The Bee employs about 650 people. It strives to reflect the region's diversity in its staff and coverage. The area is home to large populations of people of Hmong, Cambodian, Laotian and Latin American heritage.
The Bee is owned by the McClatchy Company. McClatchy publishes 31 daily newspapers and about 50 non-daily newspapers in 15 states.

Where are The Fresno Bee and the Community Publications located?
The Fresno Bee, Vida en El Valle, Clovis Independent are located just outside downtown Fresno at 1626 E Street, near the corner of Stanislaus and E. From 99 North, take the Stanislaus exit. From 99 South, take the Fresno Street exit.
The Sierra Star is located in the mountain community of Oakhurst at 49165 Crane Valley Road, Suite 426.
We also have bureaus in Sacramento, Madera and Visalia.
