Rami Gabriel is the No. 1 student in the Clovis West class of 2013. By the time he graduates, he will have completed four advanced courses and 13 advanced placement courses. That raises his GPA to 4.7857, tops among 479 seniors.

Alexandra Cota can always be spotted helping others, whether they have two feet or four. The fifth-grader is a cross-age tutor, scientist, animal shelter volunteer, singer, dancer and athlete.

Fourth grade, Jacob David Lucero, Riverview Elementary
Those who know 9-year-old Jacob Lucero say he's a jack of all trades. He named World Eskrima-Kali-Arnis Federation world champion in 2012 when he traveled to the Philippines and won gold, silver and bronze medals in Filipino stick-fighting martial arts.

Third grade, Jonah Dacanay, Woodland Elementary
Jonah Dacanay would make you think he's been playing piano and guitar for most of his life, and that's because he has. The third-grader has been playing piano since he was 3 and guitar since age 5.
