High schools fall preview: Clovis West football standout Adrian Martinez

After leading unbeaten teams twice at Kastner Intermediate School and then as a freshman on Clovis West’s junior varsity, quarterback Adrian Martinez immediately established himself on a 6-5 Golden Eagles varsity team as a sophomore. At 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, he’s ranked among the state’s elite for The Fresno Bee’s No. 1 preseason team.

Other cities hold slumlords accountable, so why not Fresno?

Despite the documented, 130-year history of Fresno leaders allowing slumlords to profit off the poor, there remains stubborn opposition to adopting best-practices solutions successfully used by many California cities. Will Fresnans stand up for vulnerable residents or continue to enable slumlords?
