Richard Kinney, a fingerprint analyst with the state Department of Justice, testified Wednesday in Kings County Superior Court that none of the fingerprints in Debbie Hawk's house and van matched her ex-husband's. Kinney also said three unidentified prints were found on the back hatch of the van.
Dave Hawk, 51, of Lemoore was charged in mid-2007 with embezzling more than $300,000 from his children's trust funds and was awaiting trial in that case when he was arrested in May 2008 in connection with his ex-wife's murder. Debbie Hawk's body has never been found.
Prosecutors in Hawk's murder trial rested their case Wednesday after eight days of testimony. The defense will begin calling witnesses at 9 a.m. today.
