The next to last NTRA Thoroughbred Poll shows no changes in the positions of the top ten vote getters with the Breeders' Cup on the horizon. The World Championships take place on Friday and Saturday at Santa Anita Park.

Three-year-old filly Rachel Alexandra remains in first place with 18 first- place votes and 189 points. Undefeated this year in eight starts, the filly is being given some time off until she resumes racing in 2010.

Zenyatta keeps her second-place position with three-year-old colt Summer Bird remaining in the third spot. Each received one first-place vote with Zenyatta receiving 174 points and Summer Bird totaling 168 points.

The top ten is rounded out by Gio Ponti, Einstein, Careless Jewel, Zensational, Ventura, Quality Road and Presious Passion.

While Rachel Alexandra is resting, champion mare Zenyatta is expected to start in the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic versus males. Summer Bird, Quality Road and Einstein are also being pointed toward the 1 1/4 mile race.

Four-year-old Gio Ponti, who won the Arlington Million, has also been pre- entered in the Classic.

With Zenyatta going in the Classic on Saturday, the $2 million Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic features three-year-old filly Careless Jewel. Three-year-old Zensational will start in the $1 million Breeders' Cup Sprint. Ventura is back to defend her title in the $1 million Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint.
