LOS ANGELES -- Former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush have canceled February appearances in Los Angeles and New York because a promoter wrongly billed the events as debates.

Clinton spokesman Matt McKenna confirmed Monday that appearances in Universal City on Feb. 22 and Radio City Music Hall three weeks later have been called off with no talk about rescheduling.

McKenna says the promoter inaccurately billed the events as debates but they actually were to have been moderated panel discussions.

Tickets for the Los Angeles appearance were to have gone on sale this week at $75 to $125. It was sponsored by the American Jewish University.

Clinton and Bush made a joint appearance in Toronto in May.
