Jags place Starks on IR; get Smith off waivers from Rams

The Jacksonville Jaguars placed cornerback Scott Starks on injured reserve and were awarded safety Anthony Smith off waivers from the St. Louis Rams on Saturday.

Starks will now miss the rest of the season as he is suffering from a leg injury. In his fifth year in the league, all with Jacksonville, he has 71 tackles, two interceptions and five passes defensed.

Smith is a four-year veteran in the NFL and over two games with the Rams this season he had four tackles. He spent his first three years with Pittsburgh and over 46 game he totaled 106 tackles, four interceptions and nine passes defensed.
