St. Petersburg, FL (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Rays announced Monday they have exercised the 2010 option on the contract of outfielder Carl Crawford and declined the options on pitcher Brian Shouse and catcher Gregg Zaun.

Crawford finished the 2009 season hitting .305 with 15 homers, 68 RBI, 28 doubles, eight triples and a club-record 60 stolen bases.

The 28-year-old Houston native is the Rays' longest-tenured player and is also the franchise leader in hits, at-bats, stolen bases, runs scored, triples, RBI and games played.

Shouse went 1-1 with a 4.50 earned-run average over 45 games this past season, his first with Tampa Bay.

Zaun, a 15-year pro, hit .287 with four homers and 14 RBI in 34 games after coming over from the Baltimore Orioles. He hit a combined .260 with eight homers and 27 RBI in 90 games in 2009.

The Rays also claimed pitcher Ramon Ramirez off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds. Ramirez posted no decisions in 11 games, and is 1-1 with a 2.97 ERA in 16 appearances for Cincinnati over the last two seasons.
