She’s qualified because: Williams excelled in the 100 hurdles and won the section title in 15.18. She registered the second-fastest time in the section this season, and held the ninth-best time of 47.37 in the 300 hurdles. Edison coach Danny Alberty said her personal best in the 100 hurdles ranks her 20th in the state as a junior.

She's qualified because: At the Central Section Grand Masters meet, Monteverde was a triple gold-medalist -- winning the 100-meter high hurdles (wind-aided 14.59), the 300 low hurdles (43.92) and high jump (5-4). She also anchored the 1,600 relay to a third-place finish (3:59.02). That means she contributed 31.5 of Clovis West's team-winning 94 points.
Defining moment: She was the Tri-River Athletic Conference and North Area champion in the 100 and 300 hurdles. Her 14.57 in the 100 hurdles is No. 1 on the all-time freshman section list and No. 9 all-time in section history. Her 43.67 in the 300 hurdles also tops the all-time freshman section list and is No. 5 all-time in the section. She holds four freshman school records in both hurdle events, the 200 and as part of the 1,600 relay. At Clovis West, she's No. 2 all-time in the 100 and 300 hurdles and is No. 5 all-time in the high jump. She was the team's Most Outstanding award winner.

JESSICA ALANIS
Hurdles, Granite Hills
Grade: Senior
She’s qualified because: Alanis is a two-time section champion in the 300 low hurdles. Her time of 44.20 seconds is seventh on the all-time section list and leads the all-time Tulare County list. She also ran the fastest time in the 100 high hurdles this season at 15.08 (No. 21 all-time) and good for second-best all-time in Tulare County. Alanis is a three-time state qualifier in the 300 hurdles and two-time state qualifier in the 100 hurdles. She is a three-time East Yosemite League champion in the 300 hurdles and a two-time league champ in the 100 hurdles. She holds eight school records, two EYL hurdle records and was named Athlete of the Year and received the EYL Acosta Award. She will compete at Fresno Pacific.
Hurdler, Clovis East
Grade: Senior
He’s qualified because: Scored a section hurdles sweep, and he was hardly pushed, winning the 100 in 14.55 and the 300 in 38.63 while powering the Timberwolves to their first section team title in the sport. His 14.55 100 and 38.10 300 are school records. And the 300 mark ranks eighth all time in the section.
