Why do you write? It beats yelling at people. I often wonder why the folks in charge make education so difficult. It seems that common sense is all too uncommon.

Education: Degrees in biology and chemistry from California State University, Fresno, and a master's degree in counseling from Fresno Pacific University.

Family: Married for more than 30 years with two daughters. One is a senior at UC Berkeley, while the other is a freshman at Fresno Pacific University.

Political philosophy: I don't really have a political philosophy. I usually find that politics tend to get in the way of people doing the right thing.
