Age: 56
Occupation: Accounting assistant.
Hobbies: Reading and travel.
Bee reader since: 1992.
How many letters: Eight since 2004.
Favorite topics: Human rights, equal rights, freedom of choice.
Why do you write? I am passionate when it comes to respect and fairness for human beings, animals and our environment. I don't understand why some people are so consumed with contempt and intolerance. We can do so much more if we work together instead of spending our time judging and condemning.
Topic that doesn't get enough attention: Who the young ladies of our country are seeing as role models. Sometimes it's sad to see who they want to grow up to be like.
Excerpt from recent letter: "I am 100% pro-choice and no one, especially a man, should be allowed to tell me when I can or can't make a decision about my own body. I will now vote 'no' on Proposition 4. If and when men are ever willing to give up their rights concerning their own bodies, then and only then will they understand what 'pro-choice' means to the women who need this right."
Reaction to letters: People are usually surprised that I'm willing to be so open and honest.
Education: High school.
Family: Husband, Rob; son, Jason; daughter-in-law, JosiAnne; grandson, Jakob; my mother, Pat.
Political philosophy: Our country is in a crisis, and we need change now. I think a generational change is imperative to bring our country back to where we once stood as a trusted and respected leader at home and around the world. We need to stop voting for the "political party" and vote for the "person" who can best accomplish this.
