Why do you write? Sometimes people send in letters that make no sense in the real world.
Topic that doesn't get enough attention: Teachers work hard and test scores do not necessarily reflect the work a teacher puts in.
Reaction to letters: Most teachers agree with my letters. Working police officers agree, police administrators usually lose all grasp of reality within two years.
Excerpt from recent letter: "Let's be honest. The Democratic Party is the party of the wacko environmentalists. The Democrats cannot lead us to energy independence any more than the fox can lead to greater security at the hen house."
Education: Dos Palos High (1967), Coalinga Junior College (1969), Fresno State (1972).
Family: Wife, Sandy; daughter, Kim and husband, Ray (grandsons: Jordon, Jacob, Joshua); daughter, Kelly and husband, Bryan (granddaughter, Savannah).
Political philosophy: I have worked all my life. I do not think it is the government's job to take the money I have worked for and give it to people who are lazy or have made poor choices. If you take away the benefit of work via taxation and reallocation of wealth policies, why should anybody work?
