Carol Knoy

Age: 60-plus

Home: Dinuba.

Occupation: Full-time homemaker, former grocery store clerk, packing house grader and timber activist.

Hobbies: Politics, reading, gardening, traveling and bicycle riding.

Bee reader since: 1962 (back when I was a youngster).

How many letters: 29 since 1995. My first letter was regarding whether or not driving barefoot was illegal.

Favorite topics: Government abuse and corruption; the constitutional rights of the people. I enjoy speaking up for the underdog and speaking my opinion since it is my constitutional right.

Why do you write? Because I am a concerned citizen. I want my letters to cause people to stop and think.

Education: High school and real life school, as it is an adventure.

Family: Married for 46 years; four children; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. I give my husband kudos for putting up with me for all these years.

Political philosophy: I am a strong conservative. I believe that politicians should serve the people and not their own agendas. We need to bring common sense back to America.
