Why do you write? I write to make people stop and think about what their elected officials are doing. Hopefully, if we judge our senators and congressmen by their actions and not their words we'll start electing better people to represent us. And, I write so my wife doesn't have to hear me rant at the news every morning.

Education: Fresno State, 1975.

Family: Married, four children, two grandchildren.

Political philosophy: Democracy has to be more than two wolves and one sheep voting on what to have for dinner.
