Favorite topics: Animal stories and photos, responsible use of our resources and the environment, zero reliance on foreign energy, protecting our freedoms and the American Dream, taking personal responsibility.

Why do you write? To share a point of view that others may not have thought of, or to bring to light something in our community.

Excerpt from recent letter: "The AIG bailout is corporate welfare in its worst sense. What is this country coming to when true capitalism isn't allowed to function with survival of the fittest? It really looks like Congress is throwing good money after bad with each additional sum handed over to AIG."

Reaction to letters: Usually good. But then the world would be a boring place if we all agreed on everything!

Topic that doesn't get enough attention: That we as Americans are straddling the fence, with one foot on the side of capitalism and the other on the side of socialism.

Education: Bullard High School, bachelor's degree from Fresno State in business/psychology minor/philosophy concentration.

Family: Me and my six cats; both parents in town; brother in San Francisco, extended family all over the U.S. and Europe.

Political philosophy: Live and let live! I believe in preserving all of the freedoms that the writers of the Constitution intended, including the freedom to make references to God, and in taking personal responsibility.
