Why do you write? Mainly just to vent, but also to test the readers.
Excerpt from recent letter: "The people of Gaza duly elected Hamas to carry on their never-ending quest to destroy Israel. Going back in time, if there had never been a terrorist-led Palestine Liberation Organization, a second state would have been established decades ago. Yasser Arafat is almost totally responsible for that failure."
Reaction to letters: One letter drew a response published in The Bee. He took offense at my rant about lawyer-politicians. Friends and family have yet to get on my case about my views.
Topic that doesn't get enough attention: How the list of entitlements keeps growing and now seems to even include home ownership and easy credit.
Education: Two years community college, many continuing education credits, mainly in environmental field.
Family: Married to wonderful wife, Donna, 47th anniversary last month; one daughter and son-in-law with two granddaughters living in Clovis; a son and granddaughter with us in Sanger.
Political philosophy: Voted straight Democratic ticket in 1960 as a first-time voter, Republican thereafter. I am not sure if liberals are selling entitlements or just buying votes, but to take from people who work, earn and provide jobs and give to those who don't goes against my sense of fairness. And yeah, I know, nobody said life was fair.
