Age: 61

Occupation: Management assistant.

Hobbies: Reading and traveling.

Bee reader since: 2005.

How many letters: Nine since 2007.

Favorite topics: I get really upset when I see illegals crying "discrimination" because someone doesn't speak Spanish.

Why do you write? I write to voice my opinions. I believe that we (this country) are catering way too much in that we are publishing documents in Spanish along with other languages. I can remember when people came to the U.S. and were so proud to live here that they forced themselves to learn English.

Excerpt from recent letter: "The Constitution gives all Americans the right to the pursuit of happiness. Who are we to deny any particular group this right? If people want to get really uptight about what they say is in the Bible, does it not also say in the Bible that like will mate with like? Then, shouldn't interracial marriages of all kinds be outlawed? Like with like would mean white with white, black with black, Asian with Asian, etc. Why can't we all just live in peace with one another and stop trying to dictate to a specific group?"

Reaction to letters: Mostly positive.

Topic that doesn't get enough attention: The struggles of the military and their families while they (the soldiers) are away and when they return home.

Education: College graduate.

Family: Only child and last survivor.

Political philosophy: Well, I think my letters say it all.
