POMONA, Calif. -- Authorities say a car chase in Pomona led to the arrest of a 32-year-old man wanted in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old man.

Police say Robert Louis Caballero of Pomona was being held in jail on Sunday and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

Pomona police Lt. Joann Guzek says officers tried to pull over Caballero early Saturday morning but he fled. Officers chased him into neighboring Montclair, where he hit a light pole and tried to flee on foot before officers caught him.

Officers learned there was a warrant out for Caballero's arrest in connection with the killing of Armando Vidana, also of Pomona, and took him into custody.

San Bernardino County deputies reached Sunday did not know whether Caballero had hired an attorney.
