Christians for Fair Witness Says Episcopal Resolutions on Palestine/Israel are Biased
Christians for Fair Witness on the Middle East ("Fair Witness") is concerned about four resolutions regarding Palestine/Israel that have been submitted by the Standing Commission on Anglican & International Peace with Justice Concerns for consideration at the Episcopal General Convention in Anaheim, California, July 8-17, 2009.
In the preamble of these resolutions the Standing Commission quotes an article by Dr. Sara Roy, whom it describes as a "daughter of a [Holocaust] survivor," exploiting the history of the Jewish Holocaust and using it as a weapon against Israel in a statement condemning the occupation.
In the preamble the Standing Commission writes at length about the Israeli occupation, the settlements and the separation or security barrier as the obstacles to a two-state solution. It is completely silent however, when it comes to Palestinian terrorism, Qassam rockets from Gaza, suicide bombing from the West Bank, the Hamas/Fatah split, and the rejection on the part of the Hamas government of

Nunes skips out
Devin Nunes AWOL! There have been five candidate forums recently that included our congressional candidates for the 21st District. Our own local, Steve Haze, running for Congress, appeared at every one of them. However, Devin Nunes, our current representative, couldn't be bothered to show up for any. Rep. Nunes needs to stand before his constituents and be held accountable for his actions, or lack thereof.
There are some very serious problems in our country today, and we need some answers as to what we can expect our representatives to do about them. What does Rep. Nunes propose to do about the health care crisis; minimum wage; securing our borders, our chemical and nuclear plants and our airspace; the occupation of Iraq; funding education; global warming; oversight, checks and balances of the executive branch; our disappearing pension funds; saving Social Security; a comprehensive plan for energy independence? The answer is -- nothing!
He has had six years and done nothing for us.

Occupation is the seizure and control of another country by a powerful invading military. Might does not make it right.
The occupational disease required by the occupiers and their supporters can be treated by occupational therapy, which would be the study and application of morality.
There is a simplistic formula to determine rightness of action. One test is the result of an action, or "you shall know them by their fruits." The Ten Commandments are also a good standard. Occupiers feel good if they are not the one suffering from 4 million cluster bombs dropped in three days. It is a short life, and at its end, everyone may be challenged to account for his or her actions.
