In response to Louise A. Yenovkian (letter Dec. 7) regarding my concern over the commercialization of Christmas Tree Lane, I would like to clarify my position: I live one street off of the Lane and have three immediate family members who live on the Lane. In addition, the public service announcements that are aired actually have been recorded by many Old Fig Garden residents, including myself.

So as I travel down the lane with my family on walkers' night and make donations at the various locations, I consider the Lane a true asset. However, when adults approach me selling Christmas novelties, I do have concern with the altruism of the effort. A certain degree of commercialism exists, condoned or not. Enjoy the season and bring your wallet.
