An article in The Bee Oct. 29 stated the city is offering a drug discount card (through a program sponsored by the National League of Cities) that can save people up to 20% on drugs not covered by insurance.

The article goes on to say, if you want details or to sign up for a card, to make computer contact only!

We senior citizens are not from the computer generation. There are a great many of us who cannot afford a computer, don’t know how to operate one and don’t own one!

Why are seniors being deliberately left out of reaping the benefits due to no access? Who’s running this program — ACORN? Whatever happened to the good old telephone? Why wasn’t a phone number given so seniors could dial a number for details or to request a card?

Shame on the city officials!
