Living in the foothills, I’m awed when I see bicyclists tackling the hilly terrain on Auberry Road and Millerton Road. It’s quite an accomplishment and they should feel very proud.
However, when I see bicyclists on Highway 168 between Prather and Clovis, I feel scared. This road doesn’t have a “bike lane” and very little shoulder. If, on one of its various sharp turns, a biker meets a car going up the hill and a car going down the hill, that bicyclist may not ever feel anything again.
