Assistance League volunteers want to thank all the wonderful individuals who purchased a Granville Home of Hope ticket this year that benefitted seven local charities. The event raised $350,700, and fabulous prizes were awarded on Oct. 24.
As one of the beneficiaries, the money we receive will go to our Operation School Bell program, which hands out warm zip-up hooded jackets, hooded sweatshirts, long- and short-sleeve shirts, long pants, shorts, shoes and hygiene kits filled with shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, brush and comb.
Fresno County children in need will receive these items now before the winter cold hits the hardest.
We thank Fresno State Football Coach Pat Hill, Police Chief Jerry Dyer, Fresno County Schools Superintendent Larry Powell, Sarah Woolf and Carol Padilla for helping with the KSEE 24 telethon and encouraging the public to support this fundraiser. To find out more about Assistance League, please stop by our thrift store, Bargain Boutique at 1034 N. Fulton in the Tower District or visit our Web site at www.alfresno.org.
