Gary Walker tries to give us a history lesson in defending the president [Valley Voices Oct. 24]. Perhaps what he misses most is the importance of the values that Americans hold.

Many are offended by the undeniable lies of President Obama, while he has attempted to nationalize our auto industry, our major banks, some insurance companies; all while threatening the takeover of the health care delivery system, and preparing to significantly raise the cost of otherwise plentiful and affordable energy sources. Then he tells us it's for our own good.

The tea parties were a surprise to him, and there are more to come. All of these uprisings were legal, peaceful and bigger than ever thought possible. It has shocked those on the left so much they are now trying to convince Republicans they are needed in the system.

So far the only thing this administration has actually done is taunt the American public with promises of "bipartisan" actions. Mr. Walker insults us all by claiming President Obama gives a hoot about anyone who does not agree with him. He doesn't -- it's not the Chicago way.

President Obama's party dominates the Congress and can only deliver talk and no action. Thank goodness.
