I have lived a long time. Thankfully, I have learned a lot during this time.

Some things I know to be true: Chemicals have polluted the ground water of several small towns in our Valley. Lakes have become dumping sites of waste that kill fish. Kettleman Hills supposed “contained” management shifted a few years back. It takes close to 100 years for chemicals to leach out of the soil. Chernobyl caused a famine in the Ukraine. Then, there is Diablo Canyon.

I am not against progress. We need it to survive. What I am against is callous investors taking advantage of and harming those who can’t fight back.

When the nuclear commission has found a way to break down the waste to a neutral factor, then I will agree. In the meantime, I’ll stick with PG&E.
