Bill Walker [letter Oct. 20] made a good point on the use of turn signals when driving. I agree our turn signals are a great sense of communication between drivers on the road. However, there would be much less frustration if people would just stop tailgating.

I know gas prices are high, but this is not NASCAR, and there is no need to draft, especially when you’re traveling speeds of less then 70 miles an hour. Secondly, drivers would not have to slam on their brakes when someone decides to make a turn and it would greatly reduce road rage.

You do not arrive to your destination any faster by riding someone’s bumper. You’re just lucky for getting there safely.

Please remember to use your turn signals, but also leave your safety cushion and it will save us all frustration and anger.
