I never realized how precious freedom was until Barack Obama became president. By then it was too late.

It sounded so good, all that talk about going after the big guys, the corporate execs, the special interests, and returning the nation’s wealth to its rightful owners. Now I realize that letting the government take away their freedom reduced mine, too.

Cutting their profits didn’t put money in my pocket; it cost me. When you start spreading the wealth, you end up sharing the want.

It took for people to see this. But President Obama and the Democrats, with their media buddies, by pitting one group of Americans against another, bought just enough time to fundamentally, and irreversibly, change America from what it has always been — a free nation, prosperous and proud.

I think history will show (assuming historians are not censured) that we woke up one election too late. Once you’ve driven a farmer, a doctor, a small businessman, an insurance or car company out of business, you can’t just bring them right back with the snap of a legislative finger.

Before our eyes the special interests are being replaced by something more insidious — one colossal, monopolistic special interest — totalitarian government.
