Regarding the letter by Dick Caglia Oct. 11: About two years ago, some investors wanted to build a nuclear plant on Fresno’s west side. People came out in force to stop it. Yet, Fresno City Council members OK’ed an experiment to see the effects of the groundwater.

My challenge to such investors is this:

All investors (as a conglomerate) buy up 1,000 acres of land and put the plant in the middle of the acreage.

All investors would be required to live somewhere on this acreage; rear their family there; drink the groundwater; eat food grown on the acreage.

Waste must be contained on the 1,000 acreage.

After they have lived, breathed, drank and eaten the results of their investment for 20 years, they can then reapply to sell to the public.
