Regarding the Valley Voices commentary Sept. 27 by H.B. "Bud" Thompson, I believe he must have old information concerning health care insurance as an individual (not group).

I have tried for the past 10 months to get insurance because my husband lost his job due to cancer. I only had a few conditions that disqualified me, no severe disablement.

Out of the five rejections, Kaiser's was the worst reason. They disqualified me because I had seen a doctor within a 12-month period. Health reform? No, insurance reform first. Now you know why the numbers are so high for people without insurance!
