Drive-by shooting kills man in Orange Cove Fresno County sheriff's deputies are investigating a fatal shooting Friday night in Orange Cove in eastern Fresno County.

The victim was found shot on the street at Fourth and Park streets when deputies were dispatched there about 7:30 p.m., investigators said.

The victim, identified by the Fresno County Coroner's Office as Juan Rico, 18, of Orange Cove, was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, where he was pronounced dead at 11:56 p.m. Rico reportedly was standing with a group of people when he was shot by someone in a passing vehicle.

Motorcycle crash kills 1 At least one person was killed Saturday evening in a motorcycle crash on Highway 41 just south of Lucky Lane near Oakhurst.

The California Highway Patrol had no details of the accident, which happened shortly before 6 p.m. Officers said the crash slowed traffic on the highway in both directions for several hours.

Shooting outside liquor store leaves man injured One man is in Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition after a shooting Saturday night outside a Fresno liquor store.

Fresno police Lt. Joyce Vasquez said the shooting was reported by a 911 call about 8:30 p.m. Vasquez said officers arrived and found the victim, a Hispanic man in his 20s, lying in the parking lot of the liquor store in the 4700 block of Kings Canyon Road. The man was shot once.

Vasquez said that witnesses told officers that two other Hispanic men had argued with the victim. After the shooting the two men ran away. Vasquez said officers were searching the area for the suspects, and did not yet know the motive for the shooting.
