A Mendota man has been arrested in the stabbing of a 77-year-old man who used a wheelchair, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office reported.

Joseph Lee Quintana, 24, was booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder.

Officers went Monday morning to the 41000 block of West Valeria Avenue, where they found the victim on the floor of his bedroom with injuries to his back and neck. The victim was treated at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno and released.

Deputies learned that Quintana was in Dos Palos, where he was arrested on the 7000 block of Azusa Avenue.
