A 3-acre fire destroyed a tractor and several other pieces of equipment Friday afternoon west of Prather.
The 1:30 p.m. fire was contained in 30 minutes, but three firefighters suffered minor smoke inhalation in the blaze and were treated at the scene, said Fresno County fire Capt. Chris Christopherson.
The fire, near Auberry and White Thorn roads, was caused by a cutting torch used without proper clearance, he said. The property owner was cited.
Firefighters kept the fire from spreading to a nearby home and several other buildings, he said.
