Keep voices of loved ones

FresnoJuly 17, 2014

"Hi, Mama. Hi, Honey," I loved hearing those words.

My mom, Frances E. Miller, passed away on January 2013. I miss her every day. She was 92.

The article "The dying get free video help," (July 9) brought my loss to the forefront again. I didn't keep one voicemail from my mom! I kept them from time to time over the years, but for some reason had neglected to do it before she passed away. I regret that almost every day. It would be so comforting to still be able to hear her happy voice just because it was me calling, even if we talked three times in one day (which was often). She was always happy to hear from me.

After she passed and I realized I hadn't saved one message from her, I was devastated.

Now I will tell anyone who will listen, "Save some messages from those you love; you never know if it will be the last time you hear their voice."

Thanks for the article.
