Rawhide Report 7/14: Inland Empire 11, Visalia 1

Rough start: Visalia starter Eric Brooks gave up home runs to Zach Wright and Mark Shannon while allowing four earned runs on six hits and three walks in 3 1/3 innings as the Rawhide were routed 11-1 by Inland Empire on Monday in the California League.

And it didn't get better: Four Visalia relievers (Justin Van Grouw, Keith Hessler, Kyle Schepel and Daniel Gibson) combined to give up 11 hits and seven earned runs the rest of the way.

Lone highlight: Brandon Drury singled in Kevin Medrano in the sixth for his 66th RBI of the season.

Up next: Following a league-wide off day, the Rawhide open a three-game series at Lancaster at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Pitchers have not been announced.
