Time to hand out a few kudos. I recently took my autistic son to the local pizza parlor. As we walked to the entrance, a group of teenagers, almost in unison called out hello, and greeted my son by name. Four boys, all students at Alta Sierra Intermediate School in Clovis that my son attends — one a catcher and another a pitcher for the baseball team — greeted him like a friend. To their parents, their teachers and coaches at Alta Sierra, and the administration of the school and the district, that promote acceptance, and the motto, "Character Counts," I would like to say good job — it seems to be working.
