Madera-area homes to have temporary water shutoff

The Fresno BeeJuly 14, 2014

From midnight Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday, 13 houses in the Parkwood neighborhood near Madera will be without water yet again so a new connection can be established.

Madera County is linking Parkwood's water supply into the city of Madera's. In addition to the water shutoff, Madera County officials issued a warning that the affected homes will be under a "boil water notice" as a precaution and will have water delivered to them until the notice is lifted.

The intertie was voted on and approved last month when Parkwood's one operational well failed twice in May. The well failed a third time on July 7 when the community was without running water for two days.

Madera County officials estimated that the intertie project will be done Friday.
