Yosemite Music Festival rocks the foothills

Merced Sun-Star StaffJuly 13, 2014

In its 13th year, the Yosemite Music Festival rocked the foothills Friday and Saturday at the Mariposa Fairgrounds for the first time.

The event featured 20 bands from all over California, including Merced’s Cottonwood Creek and Oakdale’s The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit.

Adam Finney, event founder and organizer, estimated that more than 400 attended the two-day festival.

"it's a whole new ball game coming here from the ranch, but so far it has been a great success," Carter said.

The festival also featured hula-hooping and animal mask-making for children and families.

Six local vendors, including Prospectors Brewing Co. and restaurant Mariposa 1850, provided food and drinks for festival goers.
