Rawhide Report for 7/10: Visalia 3, High Desert 2

Breakthrough: Visalia snapped a 12-game losing streak the hard way, scoring two in the bottom of the ninth to pull out a 3-2 victory over High Desert in a Cal League game Thursday night.

Thunder, then small ball: Rudy Flores led off the Rawhide's half of the final inning with his 13th homer. Ronnie Freeman walked and was replaced by Fidel Pena. Brandon Jacobs reached on an error with Pena going to third, Kevin Medrano was hit by a pitch, and Pena then scored on Raul Navarro's grounder.

Up next: Visalia LH Spencer Arroyo (4-4, 3.93 ERA) faces Inland Empire LH Tyler DeLoach (7-4, 3.52) to open a four-game series at 7 p.m. Friday at Rawhide Ballpark. DeLoach leads the league with 102 strikeouts in 942/3 innings.
