Two people were arrested Wednesday after Merced police served a search warrant at a residence in the 1500 block of Little Rock Court.

Manuel Ontiveros, 42, and Lorena Trevino, 31, were taken into custody after officers with the Gang Violence Suppression Unit served the warrant just after 3:30 p.m.

According to Sgt. Joseph Weiss, officers had learned Ontiveros has been selling narcotics. Upon serving the warrant, officers found two girls, ages 15 and 16, inside the home.

During the search of the residence, officers found a loaded firearm, 2 ounces of cocaine and more than $3,600 in cash.

Police believe Ontiveros is a gang member. He was booked at the Merced County jail on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm, ammunition, and narcotics for sales. He’s also facing gang enhancements. Trevino was booked on a parole warrant.

Police are asking anyone with any information to call Weiss at (209) 385-4754, or the department’s automated tip line at (209) 385-4725. Tips can also be sent via anonymous text message by dialing TIP411 (847411) and including ComVIP as the keyword in the text message.
