Rawhide Report for 7/9: High Desert 13, Visalia 12

The Fresno BeeJuly 9, 2014

Early, late flurries not enough: Visalia got within one on Brandon Drury's one-out three-run double in the ninth — after entering down seven — but High Desert held on 13-12 to deal the Rawhide their 12th straight loss in a Cal League game Wednesday night.

Bad start: RH Eric Brooks entered with a 1.48 ERA across four minor league levels this season but flopped in his debut for Visalia. He was tagged for eight earned in 3 1/3 innings. A 2012 11th-round pick by Texas, he was in independent ball before parent club Arizona bought his contract in May.

Up next: Rawhide RH Brandon Sinnery (7-6, 4.54 ERA) faces LH Scott DeCecco (4-8, 6.37) as the series wraps up at 7 p.m. Thursday. Sinnery is winless in his past four starts despite a 1.67 ERA.
