Lyndsey Lopes of the Valley Vipers won the 17-18 girls heptathlon title at last week's AAU National Club Championships by a margin of more than 100 points.

Lopes, a Bee All-Star in track and field this past spring for Clovis West High who is transferring to Edison, locked up the title with 4,785 points by finishing no worse than sixth among 24 competitors in the seven events in Orlando, Fla.

On the opening day, she was first in the 100-meter hurdles (14.43 seconds), tied for third in the high jump (5 feet, 1 inch), sixth in the shot put (29-10¾) and second in the 200 (25.34).

Lopes followed that up with a fifth in the long jump (16-10¾) and second-place finishes in the javelin (105-3) and 800 (2:25.92).
