Body of Hume Lake drowning victim found

The Fresno BeeJuly 8, 2014

The body of a man presumed drowned Friday at Hume Lake in Fresno County has been found, said Chris Curtice, sheriff's office spokesman.

The drowning victim from Anaheim was found late Tuesday morning by divers in the Sandy Cove area of Hume Lake. The Fresno County coroner identified him as Danny Iglesias, and listed his age as 26, not 27 as first reported by authorities.

The man was visiting the lake with family when he disappeared.

The Sandy Cove entrance, which has been closed since the search for the man began, was scheduled to reopen at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The Hume Lake drowning preceded a Saturday afternoon drowning of Luis Ortiz, 38, at Shaver Lake.
