One man hospitalized in northeast Fresno stabbing

A fight between two men in northeast Fresno ended in a stabbing Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The fight broke out near the San Ramon Apartments on San Ramon Avenue and Sixth Street. One of the fighters used a small knife to stab the other once in the throat and once in the head, just missing vital organs, said Sgt. Mike Palomino.

The victim was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Police did not know what started the fight.

The suspect has been identified, but police are not releasing his name, Palomino said.
