A Hanford woman accused of embezzling about $22,000 from the J.G. Boswell Company in Corcoran has been arrested, police said Monday.
Deputy Chief Gary Cramer says Marina Martinez, 51, an invoicing clerk at the company, was arrested July 1 at her home and admitted to investigators that she took the money. She faces three counts of embezzlement and was being held in Kings County Jail, Cramer says.
Boswell officials first notified authorities about the suspected embezzlement on June 16. Cramer says that, according to company officials, an audit conducted on missing money came directly from documents and cash under Martinez's control.
