Holiday weekend yields more than 40 DUI arrests

More than 40 people were arrested for DUI in Fresno and Madera counties during the Fourth of July holiday weekend, law enforcement agencies reported.

AVOID the 21, a task force made up of police, sheriff's deputies and California Highway Patrol officers in Fresno and Madera counties, made the arrests from the midnight Thursday to midnight on Sunday.

The next AVOID campaign will take place during 18 days ending Labor Day weekend.
