Vacant Del Monte building in Fresno catches fire again

The Fresno BeeJuly 5, 2014

The top floor of the vacant Del Monte building near G and Kern streets in downtown Fresno caught fire Saturday about 10 p.m.

The cause has yet to be determined, but Fresno Fire Department Battalion Chief Todd Tuggle said it was possibly the result of a firework.

Three fire engines and two trucks helped stop the blaze, Tuggle said.

Fires have struck the Del Monte building multiple times in recent months, the last time in May.
