Rawhide Report for 7/4: Inland Empire 7, Visalia 2

The Fresno BeeJuly 4, 2014

Still skidding: Visalia's losing streak hit seven, as host Inland Empire enjoyed an early trio of two-run innings against Rawhide starter Jesse Darrah en route to a 7-2 victory in a Cal League game Friday night.

Top two tough: 66ers leadoff man Sherman Johnson and No. 2 hitter Mark Shannon started it with a walk and two-run homer in the first. They finished 5 for 9 with four RBIs.

Trouble aplenty: Darrah (Fowler High/Fresno Pacific) allowed 12 hits and four walks. It's the third time in four games he's given up double-digit hits. He allowed nine two starts ago.

Up next: Visalia RH Brandon Sinnery (7-6, 4.81 ERA) is set to face RH Daniel Tobik (1-5, 5.19) as the four-game series continues at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.
