Fresno police announce arrest of alleged serial identity thief

A man believed to be involved in several thefts, burglaries and identity scams in Fresno stretching back to 2006 was arrested Tuesday, police said.

The Fresno Police Department announced that Bryan Garcia, 33, will face charges of being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm, being an ex-felon in possession of ammunition and possession of stolen property.

Police say detectives found a loaded .25-caliber semi-automatic handgun and stolen birth certificates, Social Security cards and others' income tax documents in Garcia's home.
