Wright really good: Daniel Wright, a 23-year-old right-hander from Arkansas State, gave up four hits and no runs in seven innings, striking out 11, as Bakersfield coasted past Visalia 5-0 Thursday night in a Cal League game at Rawhide Ballpark. The Rawhide have lost six straight.

Blistering: Designated hitter Sean Buckley, hitting .432 (19 for 43) in 10 games for the Blaze, belted a three-run homer in the fifth inning.

Up next: Former Fowler High and Fresno Pacific star Jesse Darrah (3-4, 5.76) will attempt to find his game Friday when the 24-year-old right-hander opposes Inland Empire RH Elliot Morris (1-3, 4.30) at 7:05 p.m. at San Bernardino. Darrah has given up 31 hits and 18 earned runs in his past three starts.
