The Bee's Spring All-Stars: Girls Swimming coaching kudos

The Fresno BeeJuly 1, 2014

Adam Reid, Clovis West: Oversaw the extension of the longest-running section finals winning streak as the Golden Eagles captured their 18th straight crown — and third under Reid's watch — by outscoring second-place Clovis 430.5-361.5 in Division I. Clovis West set section records in the 200 free and 400 free relays, while Mary Brooks (50 free, 100 free), Samantha Giannetta (500 free) and Kelli Ann Funk (diving) helped give the Golden Eagles titles in six of the 12 events. Also coached Clovis West's boys to their 16th straight section title.

Mike Manley, Kingsburg: Led Vikings to a second straight Division II championship in dominating fashion with 335 points, 122 more than second-place Monache. Kingsburg swept the three relays and produced individual champions in the 100 free (Bree Abell), 200 free (Abell), 100 fly (Emily Goodbar) and 100 back (Goodbar). Manley nearly directed a sweep of the D-II finals as the Vikings' boys team finished second behind Tulare 266-237.
